What a 75, 80 or 85 Chinese average gets you in the UK (2027 intake)
Every UK university on this page publishes its own equivalence table for Chinese bachelor degrees, and none of them uses the same scale or the same wording. A 75, 80 or 85 weighted average therefore does not carry a fixed meaning across the UK: you have to read your own institution's row within each university's own published list. Check your university's entry, note the class each line is attached to, and then read the university's current published version, which takes precedence over anything written here. The lines below are each university's own published wording.
- King's College London (kcl.ac.uk) — First Class Bachelor Degree: Weighted Average of 88% (211/Double First Class) | Weighted Average of 90% (non-211); High 2:1 Class Bachelor (Honours) degree: Weighted Average of 85% | Weighted Average of 88%; 2:1 Class Bachelor (Honours) degree: Weighted Average of 80% | Weighted Average of 85%; High 2:2 Class Bachelor (Honours) degree: Weighted Average of 77% | Weighted Average of 80%; 2:2 Class Bachelor (Honours) degree: Weighted Average of 75% | Weighted Average of 77%. If your degree is graded as a GPA, the college states it will normally be looking for a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.3–3.5 on a 4.0 scale.
- The University of Manchester (manchester.ac.uk) — Rank 1 List – Core List: Top + Tier 1 = 80%; Rank 2 List = 82%; Rank 3 List = 85%. The Faculty of Science and Engineering table prints lines such as 83% in a Bachelor's degree from Top / 85% in a Bachelor's degree from Tier 1; 80% in a Bachelor's degree from Top / 83% in a Bachelor's degree from Tier 1; and 82% in a Bachelor's degree from a ranked institution. Applicants applying to the Business School and the School of Arts, Languages and Cultures must provide the English language score at application.

The Warwick China University Acceptance List (2027 Entry) assigns each institution a category and, for general courses requiring a UK 2:1, the matching score. The university states that requirements vary by subject, that some courses accept a UK 2:2 or equivalent, and that all applications are considered individually.
